Warp time?

In Star Trek, there is a thing they use called warp time that, makes the ship and every one and everything on it, to go faster than the speed of light. This is impossible. It is physically impossible. it is however theoretically possible to go very close to the speed of light, but not exactly that fast. I mean, that is 299,792,458 meters per second. That is super fast. It takes light 8 minuets to travel from the sun to the earth so, fun fact, if the sun stopped producing light, we wouldn't know for 8 minuets, or longer...  It takes thousands of years for light to get to the surface of the sun, because it originates from the center. So the light that wakes you up in the morning, in thousands of years old... plus 8 minuets and, we would not know for thousands of years if the sun stopped producing light. If the sun stopped producing light, right now... It would never effect us, plus at least 5 generations. Any way... when you move at almost the speed of light, everything slows down around you, internal clocks, man made, atomic, any clock, so a couple minuets to you, is really decades. In Star Trek they travel at warp speed, which is faster then the speed of light... A LOT. This means that, in theory, the characters in Star Trek are REALLY old. They can never go back home to their families, because they will have been LONG GONE. If they use warp time, to get some where faster, to kill an army, or something, it would really be unhelpful, because they would only get there years after they intended to... After I learned this, that was the first thing I thought of.
